| In
the midst of a giant site update and the
usual daily stuff, the project
continues. |
|
 |
Ofcourse there is
stuff that needs attention but doesn't
seem to get it. |
|
|
| Anyway....
After setting up the stuff, it's time for
a little sound-check. Nothing much, just
checking if the equipment is propperly
connected and working. |
|
 |
Checking the delay
speeds |
 |
feeding it more.... |
 |
Drop some instruments
in and out... |
 |
and mash that skank
with echo's galore |
|
|
| The
connections seems to be working. Now for a
deeper dig in the
multitracker. |
|
 |
Dropping the drums out
of the mix with echoing... |
 |
Holding the Echo's
while nothing else is audible and
continueing the rhythm inside. |
 |
Mash the drums in at
the right place. |
 |
Turning everything
into an ordeal of echo's. |
|
|
|
I've made a little video of the soundcheck,
it's about 5 minutes long.
The mix is not so good that it should be
released or so, this is just a sound
check.
And unfortunately, the synchronization of
the pictures with the music isn't correct
either. But I think you'll get an idea.

| I've
put everything back in place for the
recording sessions next week. Three effect
devices (fourth one I got to pick up still),
my multitrack recorder and of course my 16
channel mixing board. |
|
 |
|
| After
setting it up and connecting the various
devices, in principal the hardware is
ready. Time for a few photo's. |
|
 |
You hardly ever see
this side of the table. |

Here's another one
taken from the back. |

The FX Connections are
a mystery for many. The secret is to
never use an effect return on your
mixing board. |

| Because
of a long list of off-line activities during
the past months, my studio wasn't quite set
up as it normally is. For the coming
project, I want it to be set up quite
well. |
|
 |
|
| As
you can see, there's still not so much
equipment here. The bowl in the middle
contains water and soap. Yes, got to do some
cleaning too. |
|
 |
|
| About
three or four hours later, the mixing table
is on it's place, the speakers moved and
everything is cleaned. Tommorrow I will put
the rest in the studio and connect
it. |

The
first preparations have been made here at
the Dubroom Studio. Tommorrow or wednesday I
will upload a few pictures from it.
Tonight we're going to talk and play a
little bit in the practice room that we
visit on a weekly basis. As our drummer is
not there I will be holding the drum sticks
tonight while we take breaks from our
conversations |
