VARIOUS ARTISTS - DUB BUDS VOLUME ON |
| The
label describes it as "probably the
hardest DUB compilation around", and
they could be very right in that!
Subtitled "17 earth shaking Stepper
Dubs inna y4k stylee", this ultra-long
disc indeed contains some of the hardest DUB
tunes around in what has become a Digital
Steppers tradition.

ALPHA AND OMEGA - SERIOUS JOKE |
| As
a part of a small collaboration project in
which the two Dub Producers made a
completely new riddim around just a vocal
track from the other, Alpha and Omega re-did
"Wolves", and dubbed it in their
own style.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - ROOTS OF DUB FUNK 1 |
| This
album contains 12 tracks from a variety of
modern Dub artists as well as artists
incorporating the Dub vibe in their own kind
of music. A few names from the CD: Alpha And
Omega, Dub Funk Association, and a lot of
Internet Artists like Dubware, The
Interuptor, Dubclash and The Technician. The
CD is an interesting set of musical works.
It covers a wide spectrum of musical styles,
showing the tremendous influence that DUB
has on today's electronic music. Not all
tracks on the album are DUB in the strict
sense of the word, but there are also enough
real DUBs present, as a prove the style is
not to be considered dead.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - YOU GOT RHYTHM |
| A
compilation by a Japanese label called
"Big Fish" included a very early
track from Messian Dread, called "Great
City Of Confusing Gates". It's one of
the few Messian Dread track that have a
strong housey influence. the music is still
dub but some techniques of contemporary
dance music have been incorporated. That was
the reason why this track has been published
in Japan.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - DUB MEET DUB |
| DUB
MEET DUB, a release of Winsuck/Black Spine
Records, takes the spirit of the Punky
Reggae Party into the next century with a
compilation of 13 very different tracks that
range from roots reggae to drum and bass to
undefined underground music. The cover is in
serious PUNK-style to once more stress the
Reggae-Dub-Underground connection. This is a
document of the influence that DUB has got
on so many styles in the underground: most
of the tracks are not DUB in the strict
sense of the word but there are effects
galore.
