Dance,
Trance, Techno, Drum and Bass. These are all
styles that came out of the establishment of
modern electronic Dance Music better known
as "House".
House Music can be seen as DUB music too,
in a way. It's remixed music, based on a
foundation of heavy bass. The producers and
Studio engineers become artists, just like
the musicians. And many of them will have a
very impressive DUB collection at home and
will gladly acknowledge how this music
serves as their source of inspiration.
House of DUB is taking electronic Dance
Music back to the foundation. Because there
is a "Dub Room" in the House of
Modern Dance Music, but in the House of DUB
there is all of this and much more.
MIX 1: HOUSE OF DUB (ONE MANSION)
Almost 5 minutes of pure energy!
The mix starts of with a horn theme and
some other intstruments, only to be soaked
in echo's and make way for the basdrum and a
heavily effected bassline. A bubbling organ
enters in during the same time.
Then the horns come back in and the
rhythm turns loose. Enter some heavy
effecting on the bassline, long echo's and
teasing breaks and there are the next few
minutes.
After this, the drum and the bass drop
out for a little longer, only to come back
in an ultra-wild style. This is where you'll
hear some serious militant drums and extreme
DUB mixing on the basslines that only a
sub-woofer will reveal. Then the organs drop
in again, and you'll get a slice of Dance
Music to the vibe while only the bassdrum
and the bassline play along. The mix
builds to a climax and then it's time for
the bass to take a small rest.
Time for the horns and chords again. When
the echo's take them over, the drum and
bassline come in again to work the track to
an end. Which takes them more then a minute!
